Linked FAQs: Share Your Knowledge Base Across Apps

The days of manually copying an FAQ over to more than one app are behind you! Helpshift users now have the ability to share FAQs across multiple apps.

Our “Linked FAQ” feature provides you the functionality to easily share FAQs–along with their translations–across all apps via the ‘Linked Apps’ setting found on the FAQs page.

This is especially useful for general accounts, or troubleshooting FAQs which may be relevant for more than one app.

By linking an FAQ across multiple apps, the Title and Body of the FAQ plus Published State and associated Keywords will be synced for each FAQ and its translations (if applicable).

If you ever need to edit a linked FAQ’s content or title, the other copies will automatically be updated as well, saving you from having to copy, paste, and repeat for FAQs which may be shared across multiple apps!

How to Share an FAQ Across Multiple Apps:

  1. Click on the FAQ you’d like to copy over to additional apps
  2. Click on the + icon under ‘Linked Apps’

  1. Select the apps you’d like this FAQ to be linked to
  2. In the ‘Link FAQ Across Apps’ modal, select the FAQ Section from the selected app to link the FAQ into & Click on ‘Link’

Please Note: If required, synced FAQs can be in different Sections!

Repeat these steps for any additional FAQs which need to be linked over.

If you need to Unlink the FAQ:

  • Click on ‘Unlink’

The Warning! Message will alert you that after unlinking, the content and translations of this FAQ will no longer be in sync with other apps. The FAQ will be made independent along with its properties.

To confirm this change, click on ‘Unlink

If you Delete a Linked FAQ you will be asked for confirmation that you wish to delete the FAQ. If you need to delete the FAQ across all Apps, select ‘Also delete linked FAQs’

Items to Note about Language Translations Across Apps for Linked FAQs:

Let’s say you have two apps and the language settings for App [A] are different than App [B]

App A has FAQs translated in:

  • English
  • Arabic
  • Dutch
  • German

App B has FAQs translated in:

  • English
  • Arabic
  • Spanish

Syncing an FAQ does not automatically add languages to the app settings. However, should you add those languages at a later date, the translated FAQs will then be shown.

However, should you add that language at a later date, the FAQ will get synced.

If you remove a language, the translation will still be available but not be visible.
